Dr. Ralf Wintergerst

Ralf Wintergerst is Chairman of the Management Board of Giesecke+Devrient (G+D). In addition to his duties as Group CEO, he is responsible for the central areas of Information Systems, Group Security, Compliance Management and Auditing, Corporate Communications, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Strategy and Development, Legal and Corporate Governance. 

Ralf Wintergerst joined G+D in 1998 and has held various management positions within the company. Since 2013, Wintergerst has been a member of the Management Board and headed the Banknote division (now Currency Technology). In 2016, he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of G+D. 

In addition to his role at G+D, Wintergerst is President of the digital association Bitkom. He is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of secunet Security Networks AG (Essen) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of netcetera AG (Zurich). 

Ralf Wintergerst studied business administration, holds two master's degrees in management and PPW (Politics Philosophy Economics) and completed his doctorate at Ludwig Maximilian University on the subject of corporate governance and company management.
